Tackling the Skills Shortage in the UK

This week’s headlines have been full of the survey results from the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) citing the extent of the current skills shortage in the UK building industry – with 66 per cent of small construction firms admitting they have been forced to turn down new business due to this lack of resource. Give back: Your opportunity to volunteer on ULI’s UrbanPlan UK

UrbanPlan is the ULI’s exciting educational initiative which will be rolled out for the first time in the Autumn of 2015. We are seeking volunteers from the property industry from a range of disciplines including surveyors, planners, developers, lawyers, accountants and architects. Volunteers will be expected to support the delivery of the workshop alongside the professional facilitators. 25 of Europe’s top real estate investors, lenders and advisors provided their insights into the latest trends at ULI UK’s recent Capital Markets Forum.  The Forum kindly sponsored by Cushman & Wakefield and Dentons discussed both the debt and equity markets.  The sentiment was that capital continues to flow to Europe, as the political risk of EU instability is not yet having an effect on investment appetites.
