25 of Europe’s top real estate investors, lenders and advisors provided their insights at this year’s ULI UK Capital Markets Forum, which took place in June. The Forum, kindly sponsored by Cushman & Wakefield and Dentons, discussed both the debt and equity markets.  The sentiment was that capital continues to flow to Europe, as the political risk of EU instability was not yet having an effect on investment appetites. The debt markets were felt to be expanding, though were not yet plentiful or deep.  And while Spain divided opinion, it … Read More

ULI UK – Reflections on 2015, Glimpses in to 2016 – Sustainability

ULI UK_Sustainability Council Summer Drinks_15 July 2015 (2)

It seems particularly poignant to be reflecting on the progress and achievements of our UK Sustainability Council at a time when the world has, just this week, resolved to take the steps necessary to avoid dangerous climate change. The outcome of COP21, the “L’Appel de Paris”, is unprecedented and a true landmark in global cooperation and diplomacy. As with any such international agreement, it remains to be seen whether or not the goal will be successfully realised. Either way, the implications for the real estate industry will be very significant; we can … Read More

ULI UK – Reflections on 2015, Glimpses in to 2016 – Development Forum

Develop_forum

ULI’s Development Forum aims to give ULI members access to an intimate examination of the leading urban regeneration schemes in the UK. Initially, we’re focusing on the major regeneration schemes in London because of the sheer scale and complexity of those that are now under construction. Because ULI is not a lobbying organisation, its ‘Chatham House Rules’ style of engagement allows ULI members to exchange fresh ideas, to discuss challenges and compare experiences amongst like-minded peers. We set up the site tours to enable members to get a “touch it, … Read More

ULI UK – Reflections on 2015, Glimpses in to 2016 – Infrastructure

Infra

As our cities densify and population demands for connectivity increase there is an ever greater demand that infrastructure evolve to meet innovative and rapid changes. During 2015 the UK Infrastructure Council, a multi-disciplinary community focused on addressing these challenge with forums themed around finance, city planning, big data, governance and innovative transport.
