Hala El Akl, Senior Associate Partner at PLP architecture and Charlie Royle, Assistant Portfolio Manager at AEW UK have been appointed as the next Chairs of the ULI UK Young Leaders.  Hala and Charlie will succeed Ryan Matenchuk and Ben O’Neil, who have done a fantastic job of leading the Young Leader programme during their two year term.

Under Ryan and Ben’s leadership, the Young Leader group has grown from strength to strength.  ULI now has 250 actively engaged Young Leader members based in the UK, who regularly participate in a broad programme ranging from lunch-and-learn meetings and networking receptions to cross-border study tours and an annual summer school.  ULI UK Young Leaders also benefit from a mentor programme that matches young real estate professionals with industry veterans to provide one-on-one knowledge sharing and industry insight.  This programme has proved very popular with 60 mentor/mentee matches last year and indications that demand will be even higher this year (applications for the mentor programme close on 15 February, for more information please visit Mentor Programme.

We are very pleased that both Ben and Ryan will remain involved with ULI helping us establish a new tech forum and growing the development forum. We look forward to working with Hala and Charlie in taking the Young Leader Group into a new era.
