ULI Scotland is one of ULI’s newest committees and has been developed to brings together professionals from across the real estate sectors, provide leadership in the responsible use of land, and creating and sustaining thriving communities. Through the exchange of information and the sharing of best practices, the Scottish Council offers industry leaders unique opportunities to further ULI’s mission focused around specific industry specialisms. Meetings take place in a confidential and friendly environment, allowing members to share ideas, opinions and information that they might not be able to discuss elsewhere.

The Scotland Committee is led by Michael Henderson, Partner, Shepherd and Wedderburn with support from members and the wider membership. The ULI Scotland Committee lead a continually evolving programme that includes seminars, study tours (local or international), case study visits, research, public forums and invitation only roundtables.

2017 – Maintaining the balance or a time for bold moves?

Scotland cities like all UK cities moved down the ULI/PwC European Emerging Trends in Real Estate rating however, investment sentiment remains higher than London (no. 27) with Edinburgh rated 24th. UrbanPlan UK 2016-17 Programme Takes Shape

After a very successful first year delivering UrbanPlan UK in 24 schools and reaching 500 pupils, we are now turning our attention to the next academic year. Continued caution and optimism for real estate investment were sentiments that resonated from the recent Emerging Trends in Real Estate (ETRE) event in Edinburgh. PwC and ULI Scotland delivered an engaging seminar around the recent Emerging Trends in Real Estate Report. The outlook for 2015 was shared by Susannah Simpson, Director, PwC Scotland and highlighted that residential and healthcare sectors were regarded as the highest investment opportunities and 18% agree that sustainable assets achieve higher rental value.
