The ULI UK Annual Networking Drinks was an opportunity for ULI members and their guests to meet again in-person after a year of virtual events.
The event took place on the 21 October 2021 on the 56th floor of 22 Bishopsgate, the second tallest building in London which was completed during the pandemic. The venue offered panoramic views of the city – an incredible backdrop for our networking reception.
Organised by our ULI UK Young Leaders Committee, the evening brought together a varied panel of speakers: Paul Kennedy (managing director at J.P. Morgan Asset Management); Peter Rogers (co-founder of Lipton Rogers Developments LLP) and Catherine van der Heide (principal at Hassell Studio). The discussion was moderated by Emily Bohill (managing partner at Bohill Partners).
The economist, developer and designer shared their respective viewpoints on the changes in the work habits, work culture and workspaces over the past eighteen months as firms return to the office. More specifically, they discussed: how the demand for, and acceptance of, remote working can differ between sectors and countries; how office buildings should adapt to stay relevant and attractive to the new working world; and what the most innovative changes have been in our approach to work. Registrants had the opportunity to pose questions during the Q&A session which followed.
We would like to thank our guest speakers, the organising committee and registrants for such a fabulous evening, and we hope to see you again soon at our future events.
