Political and economic change create uncertainties for European and American society. Uncontrolled neoliberalism seems to reserve most of the market’s benefits to a lucky few. What are the consequences for the built environment? To what extent are any of these questions design-related? Can city-making professionals re-establish confidence through new urban forms, practices and processes?

Please join us for an unpartisan and interdisciplinary discussion.

Host and moderator Eric Firley (University of Miami School of Architecture) will also introduce his new publication: Designing Change: Professional Mutations in Urban Design
