ULI Midlands – Eastside Story: The Changing Face of Eastside
The Eastside Quarter of Birmingham has seen an incredible transformation since the early 2000s. A raft of development schemes, including the construction of Millennium Point, the creation of Eastside City Park and the development of a new university campus, have combined to truly transform Eastside from an area that was constrained by the city’s infamous ‘concrete collar’ to a flourishing urban district.
The regeneration of Eastside is far from over, however. Critical developments, such as Eastside Locks, continue to come forward, whilst the much-anticipated arrival of HS2 in Birmingham will see the construction of a new railway station in heart of the quarter.
To reflect on what has been achieved so far, and to look ahead to what is yet to come, the ULI Young Leaders committee and the Business Professional Services (BPS) Birmingham Infrastructure Committee are delighted to bring you ‘Eastside Story’, an interactive event that will give you the opportunity to hear from a high quality panel of speakers and debate the future of this key area of the city.
- Richard Cowell, Assistant Director, Birmingham City Council
- Rob Valentine, Director, Bruntwood
- James Danby, Head of Commercial Development, HS2
Be sure not to miss this chance to hear all about the rapidly changing face of Eastside.
