Virtual Seminar: Perry Barr 2040 – A Vision for Legacy

The ULI UK Midlands Young Leaders invite you to join us for a virtual Seminar on Wednesday 12 January with Rebecca Farr, Development Planning Manager – North & West Birmingham at Birmingham City Council. The event will focus on Perry Barr 2040 – A Vision for Legacy as part of Birmingham City Council’s Future City Plan.

Birmingham City Council (BCC) has just finished consulting on ideas around how Perry Barr should evolve over the next 20 years to provide a regeneration framework that builds on the Commonwealth Games to secure a lasting legacy for all.

Perry Barr is a vibrant, busy, and changing place, which is home to a young and diverse community. It is benefiting from more than £700m of public sector investment in transport, homes, and facilities ahead of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, in which the area – especially Perry Park and Alexander Stadium - will play a central role. Within this dynamic context, and as part of Our Future City Plan, Birmingham City Council is developing a Regeneration Framework to ensure a positive legacy from the Commonwealth Games. This will deliver further improvements for residents, including 5,000 new homes, a new urban centre, and a greener, healthier environment that will create long term benefits for people who live, visit, and work here.

Rebecca will talk us through the activity currently underway in Perry Barr with new housing, rail station, infrastructure and future plan together with the vision that will underpin the next 20 years. There will also be a Q&A session.

We look forward to you joining us for this exciting event.
