On Tuesday 11 November there was a fascinating expert panel discussion on the use of public-private-partnerships (PPPs) in the development and regeneration of projects as part of a wider initiative being orchestrated by the Young Leaders.
For this event, the three public sector representatives, and a private sector moderator, used their experience and expertise to emphasise how the lack of collaboration, transparency and trust but also the risk imbalance between the two sectors were core barriers to developing a successful PPP. Nevertheless it was stressed that PPP projects do have a continuing importance so it is and will be critical to develop and regain positive relationships between the two sectors moving forward.
