Give back: Your opportunity to volunteer on ULI’s UrbanPlan UK
UrbanPlan is the ULI’s exciting educational initiative which will be rolled out for the first time in the Autumn of 2015.
This week’s headlines have been full of the survey results from the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) citing the extent of the current skills shortage in the UK building industry – with 66 per cent of small construction firms admitting they have been forced to turn down new business due to this lack of resource. Almost half have been forced to outsource work to third parties rather than leave work unfinished.Read the FMB press release HERE.
Our Residential Delivery Capacity conference on 24th September will explore exactly this issue and its implications for the UK housing sector. The keynote session will feature an interview with James Wates, Chairman of Wates Group and CITB – the Construction Skills Board and Richard Blakeway, Deputy Mayor of London for Housing, Land and Property. Other sessions will explore the perspective of volume housebuilders and local authorities, the potential for Modern Methods of Construction to alleviate pressure and the crucial institutional investor perspective.
