The ingredients for delivering a successful social enterprise were brought to life at the recent UK Sustainability Council Summer Drinks at Bootstrap Company. Sara Turnbull the organisations CEO provided the council with an in-depth rooftop tour and personal insight into Bootstrap Company’s mission to facilitate the growth of over 300 small businesses in the heart of Dalston.
A complex matrix of supporting tenants through their business growth, incentivising social enterprises who provide wider community benefits and striving for One Planet living form the basis of Bootstrap’s success. A long-term tenure and visionary board of directors further underpin the organisations accomplishments and enables Bootstrap to continue to develop in a competitive property market.
Delicious seasonal food provided by Tom’s Feast and local ales produced on-site were further proven cases of how the organisation nurtures occupiers towards a successful market phase. Combined with a vibrant and hip rooftop setting the evening provided an inspirational evening, bringing to life the Sustainability Council’s social cohesion theme.
A special thank you to The Crown Estate who kindly supported this event and who also shared an outline if their sustainability practices including the recently launched Wild West End initiative.
