The Innovators and Disrupters is a new series run by ULI UK Young Leaders, which will allow members to meet with people who are radically shaking up the world of bricks and mortar with their iconoclast thinking.
At the first event, taking place on Monday, Damian Eley, structural engineer and Associate Director at Arup, will describe how Arup is helping to complete Gaudi’s masterpiece at La Basilica de la Sagrada Familia in Barcelona by developing the design of six great new spires using post-tensioned stone masonry. The event, which is open to ULI Young Leader members only, is currently full but we are operating a waiting list. Please contact email@example.com
The second session in the series, on May 12th, will focus on StudioMakers with a presentation from Candida Gertler Co-Founder of Outset. StudioMakers is an initiative led by Outset in association with Second Home, The Mayor of London’s Culture Team, PLP Architecture, Create and Bolton & Quinn under the umbrella of Entrepreneurs for the Arts. The initiative will work to create new studio spaces across London, as well as fortify existing studio operators, with the aim of producing creative spaces that will be woven into the city’s fabric for the long term. More information can be found on our website.
Future events in the series will look at housing alternatives at The Collective; the future of retail with Appear [ here ] and the Hackney Fashion Hub.
