‘At Craig McWilliam’s Lunch and Learn he offered a great number of invaluable insights into both his career path, and his experience of different types of UK and global businesses, which he has worked with over the past 20 years. It was inspiring to hear how Craig has navigated his career through a variety of diverse and challenging roles, which have led to his role as Executive Director of Grosvenor’s London Estate. Insights into the Grosvenor business shared by Craig were also very exciting to hear about. It was refreshing to hear Craig speak candidly about the responsibility of leading an organisation with such a strong family heritage. What stood out most from Craig’s discussion of the Grosvenor business was his emphasis on the critical importance of maintaining a culture in which conversations of possibility and creativity are alive in all areas of the business. This was refreshing to hear, and confirmed first-hand the unique culture that the Grosvenor business is renowned for having.’

‘One of the main things which stood out to me during Craig’s talk was regarding placemaking, the wider public realm, and the long term strategy for an area. For example, leasing a shop out to a chemist or post-office at reduced rates may not initially seem be the most lucrative decision, but the overall benefit to the area as a place to be (due to convenience etc) is multiplied, and therefore the area becomes more attractive, which in turn is reflected in the rents.’
No 1. Takeaway: Your client’s trust in you is key to success.
