25 of Europe’s top real estate investors, lenders and advisors provided their insights into the latest trends at ULI UK’s recent Capital Markets Forum. The Forum kindly sponsored by Cushman & Wakefield and Dentons discussed both the debt and equity markets. The sentiment was that capital continues to flow to Europe, as the political risk of EU instability is not yet having an effect on investment appetites. The debt markets are expanding, though are not yet plentiful or deep. And while Spain divides opinion, poor growth in the UK regions looks set to disappoint those investors chasing value outside of London in the months ahead. The ULI UK Capital Markets Forum is an annual event to bring together leaders within the UK and global real estate industry to discuss recent trends and opportunities within capital markets. Participation is by invitation only with all 25 places going to decision-makers from the worlds of real estate finance, investment and property development. Disciplines represented include equity investors, lenders, finance professionals, agents and advisers. The event is held under the Chatham House rule to encourage a candid and open discussion but a rapporteur is appointed to capture the essence of the discussion for distribution to the wider ULI membership.
